Special Someone /NAC #91

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday. I hope you had a safe and happy Memorial Day spent with family and friends and didn't end up with a sunburn. :) Sorry this is late. These 3 day weekends really throw off my schedules. The Nacho's have a Sketch Challenge for you this week, and I have a confession to make. When I looked at it on line, I thought the base was just a background. So mine, looks  a little different from everyone else's. On the upside, I used DSP as a background which I rarely do. :)

I needed a card for my upline- Robin's birthday.  So it needed to either be Vintage, something I rarely do, and just didn't have time or the energy to stress over (since my PTSD has been stressing me enough) or something outside my comfort zone- I chose the latter. Here's what I came up with-

So....

1- It's pretty Clean and Simple
2- DSP as a Background
3- Embellishments. 2 of them!
I know it sounds pretty simple, put the only way she would have been more surprise would have been  1- Vintage, 2- A 1-Layer card, 3- A card that was Crumpled & Torn.

Remember how I said I didn't quite get the sketch right? Here's this week's sketch-

I got part of it right it you flip it on it's side. :)

I was trying to figure out how to get the words lined up evenly (even with the SAMJ) when it hit me that if I just off-set them I wouldn't need to worry. *Lightbulb Moment* Then, I stamped the inside with the pretty little present from sketched birthday and added dazzling diamonds to it but then I wrote my message before I took my pictures. *headdesk*

Love this font!

Well, that's all I have for you today. I hope you liked today's card, and I hope you decide to play along with us. I can't wait to see what you come up with!. As always, if you have any questions, please leave me a comment so I can be sure to answer them.

Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy day to stop by my little corner of the world. You are very appreciated. Till Next time.

Another Fabulous Work of Art / NAC # 90

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday! I hope you're having a great week so far! I had a wonderful weekend. I got to spend Saturday afternoon with a teammate and then got some stamping done and then went to a big team meeting for 5 hours on Sunday and spent some time Sunday evening with a friend. I also managed to put 2 bookcases together. I have to say I'm feeling rather accomplished so far.

Well, our New Catalog isn't even out yet and I'm afraid you're going to be tired of this set. I'm in love with it and it's Soooo not my style but I'm having such a fun time using it. I used it this week for our Nacho Color Challenge. Instead of using it like I had intended, I just used the sentiment, but I still used it. It really is such a versatile set. I don't often use retired sets in cards I post on here because if you like it, it will be hard for you to get them. But this set is from this year's Sale-A-Bration and I'm sure there are plenty still around. I love how it turned out-

I very rarely use a whole sheet of DSP for a card front, but it was just soooo pretty and, it was retired and, I needed to make room the beautiful new DSP coming in just a few weeks! It wasn't so long ago that I wouldn't have made this card like this because, it has colors other than just the 3 challenge colors, but I'm learning to allow myself to be a little more flexible with this just like the sketches can be a jumping off point instead of an exact match. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy, still one of my favorite colors especially now that Midnight Muse is retiring, punched it out with the Curly label Punch and then framed it with two more curly label punches.

Here's this week's color combo-

Here's the inside-

Can you believe I have not been using the SAMJ to stamp that sentiment and it's wood mounted? Did you fall off your chair? :)

I recently started selling Origami Owl Jewelry and a friend of mine made one of my initial purchases. I make a thank you card to go with all my purchases that my customers can use again, usually a 3x3 or 4x4 but since my friend helped me start out,  I needed a special thank you card for her. I thought this one would be nice. I included a little gift that would be just for her-

I'm happy to say, she liked both her jewelry and her card/bookmark. Well, that's all I have for you today. I hope you liked today's projects and I hope they inspired you to play along with us. I can't wait to see what you create!. As always if you have any questions about today's project, please remember to leave me a post below so I can get back to you.

Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy day to stop by my little corner of the world. You are very appreciated! Till Next Time-

Age Doesn't Count / NAC # 89

Hey y'all Happy Tuesday. I hope you're having a great week so far! I'm going to make sure that this week's post gets posted! SMH!!! We've got a sketch challenge for you this week and I tried something new. I don't know if you've heard or not, but Stampin' Up has new Alcohol based Markers called Blendabilities. They're like "Copic" markers. As a demonstrator, I got to Pre-Order mine and They arrived last Thursday and I finally got to pull them out and play with them. I needed a card for my friend Nicole's birthday and decided to try and combine the two with this week's challenge. She was very happy with the outcome. :) Here's what I came up with-

And here's this week's sketch-

As you can see, I used it as a jumping off point but the bones are still there.

Here's a closer look at the coloring-

Not too bad for a first time. I really like how smooth these markers are and how they just melt into each other without pilling. What I also really like is they come in color families of 3, light to dark in colors that are already in our color families, not some weird number system, and they're $11.95 for a set of 3. WOW!!!

Here's the inside, because you know I did something on the inside :) -

Well, that's all I have for you this week. I hope you liked my card, and I hope you like this sneak-peek of our upcoming catalog. Most of all, I hope it inspires you to play along with us. I can't wait to see what you come up with! As always if you have any questions, please leave me a comment in the space below and I'll be sure to get back to you.

Edited- I can't believe I forgot to schedule this to post. Sometimes I'm such a hare-brain!

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday! I hope y'all are having a good week so far! It's Tuesday and I'm super excited this week to share our challenge with you. I recently got to attend the Stampin' Up Catalog Premiere and it was So Much FUN!!! We got to see lots of new products and the best part in addition to getting our own catalogs before anyone else was we all got a new stamp set! I even got a new pack of the New In-Color Paper and it is Fabulous! I'm not going to tease you with it just yet but I am going to whet your appetite with the new stamp set. I'm not usually one for very abstract sets, because I don't feel like I'm very good with them, but I couldn't wait to get my ink on this one, even with it being wood. And, I didn't even use my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for this week's card! Hope you enjoy it-

Here's this week's color combo-

Here's what I came up with for the inside-

I simply stamped a third time from the front of the card without re-inking and turned the stamps for a different placement. Love, Love, Love this set!

Well, that's all I have for you this week. I hope you liked my card, and I hope you like this sneak-peek of our upcoming catalog. Most of all, I hope it inspires you to play along with us.
