MDS Monday- And Thoughts on Beauty and Perfection

*Don't forget to check out this post for my Blog-Versary - Give-Away. It will be open until Midnight August 23, 2012.*

Hey y'all. Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. I didn't get nearly as much done as I had hoped, but I was busy the entire weekend so I guess I did ok in the end.

It's a rainy, dreary day here in the DMV. Just perfect for a  Monday. Not! :( Don't you think Monday's should be pretty? I figure if I can't be off work I might as well have something pretty to look at outside my office. Of course sometimes dreary Monday's fit my mood, because I'm not ready to leave the weekend behind. Why, yes I am aware that sounds like I don't know my own mind. Well, if you know me you know my mind is a strange thing anyways, so nothing new there. Hahaha. : D (Do you ever hold down a keyboard key for a long time waiting for the letter to magically become "capitalized" like it does on your smartphone? I only ask cuz I just did that and for some reason seemed surprised when all I had was a row of little d's instead of the "big D" I needed for my smiley face.) *SMH*

While I didn't get to stamp a lot, I was able to spend a little time yesterday on MDS2. I actually created two projects. Both with messages that really spoke to me and I hope they will mean something special to you too. For those of you that know me IRL (no not Ireland, In Real Life), and many of you that know me through blog-landia as well, you know I have this "little" (BIG, HUGE) compulsion about things being "perfect". This sometimes makes it hard for me to be happy with my creations. The thing that's funniest about this, other than all the smiles and laughs it brings to your life, is that the things I'm often most unhappy with are the things I get the most comments about and the most love and appreciation from you, my friends. I was telling a friend the other day that I create for myself, because if I was trying to figure out what y'all want, I'd never get it right. That's the thought behind today's project, I think I'm going to have it printed out and framed to remind myself of this more often. I hope you'll let me know what you think.

Here's today's project-

Beauty in Imperfection
MDS2

A friend of mine had a picture of a double rose on her FB page a while back and I was struck by how beautiful it was. It was not a "perfect" rose, but an aberration, a mutation and yet so beautiful. In fact to me, it was far more beautiful because of it's "imperfection" and all the more precious because of it. Sometimes I fight to remind myself, not just in my designs but in life in general, that I don't have to be perfect. Now if I can  only remind myself of that thought more often.

I think the font is "Princess Sofia", the background is Garden Green lightened up to about 60% I think and the White letters are lightened up to about 80%.

That's all I have for you today. I hope you liked how it turned out. I love hearing from you so if you have comments or questions I hope you'll take a moment to leave them here for me in the comments. I read all of my comments and they really do make my day. If you'd like to +1 or Pin today's project, I've put the buttons on my blog for your convenience. Friends and Followers are always welcome too! :)

Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy day to stop by my little corner of the world. You are very appreciated! I've got lots of cards and projects planned for you in the upcoming months so I hope you'll stop back by real soon. Don't forget to stop by my Blog-versary page and leave me a comment to be entered in a drawing for a Free card/project. You've still got time.

Till next time-

Remember- Life is often more about the storms than the peace they seek to overwhelm. It's not about Waiting for the storms to pass, but Learning to Dance in the rain.
